Attitude Towards Violence
 |
The number of youth
threatened or injured with a weapon on school property decreased by
4.9% from 2001 to 2003.

The number of youth
who carried a weapon on school property decreased 2.2% from 2001 to
2003.

The percent of students
involved in a physical fight in the last 12 months is down 2.2% from
2001 to 2003.

Students who
responded that they always feel safe and secure in their neighborhoods
rose 10.8% from 2001 to 2003.

Availability/Acceptability of Substance Abuse
 |
The percentage of youth in Churchill County who report riding with a drunk driver, during the last 30 days, is down 9.2% from 2001 to 2003. |

The percentage of students who first used alcohol in 4th grade or below decreased by 9.2% from 2001 to 2003. |
 |
The numbers of students reporting having ever used cocaine, marijuana, or alcohol have all decreased. |
 |
The number of students reporting daily use of alcohol in Churchill County has decreased. |

Teen Sex/Pregnancy
 |
The birth rate of teenage females in Churchill County has decreased and is lower than the state average. |

The percent of students in Churchill County who responded they had ever had sexual intercourse decreased 6.8% from 2001 to 2003. |

The number of students reporting they had sexual intercourse with four or more partners decreased 3.4% from 2001 to 2003. |

American/Hispanic Dropout Rate/Academic Performance

ACT and Terra
Nova Testing scores have become comparable with the national average and
are increasing. |

Churchill Countys dropout rate continues to improve overall, but the number of Hispanic students dropping out has increased. However, the number of Native American students who drop out has decreased.
